These terms govern your access to heroterminal.com, app.heroterminal.com, the HeroTerminal API, and related Case File repositories.

Usage

HeroTerminal provides a simulated environment for education. Leads intentionally contain broken configurations. You agree not to upload sensitive production secrets and to comply with applicable laws while using the service.

Content & ownership

All proprietary code, assets, HeroCert designs, and API data are owned by heroterminal.com. The primary public content repository is the Case Files repo. By submitting a pull request to that repository you assign all intellectual-property rights in the contribution to HeroTerminal, warranting that you own such rights.

Notice regarding fictional content

HeroTerminal Case Files and investigators are works of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, organizations, places, events, and incidents are either the product of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, events, or locales is entirely coincidental.

API access

We may rate-limit or revoke API/WebSocket access for abuse, automated scraping, or attempts to reverse engineer proprietary content. Certificates may be revoked if fraudulent activity is detected.

Narrative & Fictional Content

HeroTerminal is a work of interactive fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, events, locales, and incidents are either the products of the creators' imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Specifically, the character "Luc Vernier" and other investigators are fictional personas. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental.

Limitation of liability

HeroTerminal is provided “as is”. We are not liable for any damages arising from simulation data, Lead instructions, or third-party code snippets.
